Tantan: AI-Empowered Web-Based Automatic Agricultural Carbon Footprint Accounting Platform

Abstract

The Korean Ministry of Agriculture implemented a Low-Carbon Agricultural Product Certification System since 2014. Growing demand has created staffing shortages among professional inspectors. Tantan addresses this by providing an AI-powered mobile web-based service platform designed to enhance the efficiency of the certification process through intelligent automation and data management. The platform uses AI-based document recognition to reduce manual data entry and integrates supplier databases for automatic emission factor computation. For farms cultivating multiple crops, it offers an intuitive interface for daily farming activity logs, enabling farmers to estimate input ratios per crop without the need for on-site consultation visits.
